As you may know, the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018. The regulations impose new obligations on organisations that hold personal information of those involved with them.
Using your personal information
In order to process and manage your relationship with us as a volunteer, we collect basic personal data about you including name, address, email, phone number- based primarily on the information you provided on your RSVP membership application form.
Where appropriate, we also hold any relevant health or other information that you have provided .
What we do with your data
We share your contact details on a need to know basis with the organisation(s) directly related to the service with which you are involved.
We have a Data Protection policy in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data , if you wish to see our data protection policy, then please contact the above.
How long we keep your data
We are required to keep your personal data (name, address, contact details, and volunteering history) for a minimum of 3 years after your volunteering comes to an end; after which time it will be destroyed.
What are your rights?
If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted.

Under GDPR, our newsletters are classified as “marketing communications, and as such we have to obtain your consent to continue sending RSVP West’s “Volunteering News” and any other similar information.
