1st February is World Read Aloud Day www.litworld.org/wrad/

The day is a reminder that reading aloud to children every day puts them almost a year ahead of children for whom this is not their experience.

It is also a reminder that there are 750 million adults around the world , two thirds of whom are women,  without basic skills in reading and writing.

Our RSVP School volunteers help children acquire literacy as a basic human right.

From mutual interests, memories, or activities you both enjoy, to using non-verbal communication skills, there are lots of ways you can start a conversation with someone living with dementia this #DAW2019.

Read on for tips on how you can get talking. https://t.co/VJiaJq977K
