Despite the availability of minibus and dial-a-ride services in some areas, there is no substitute for a friendly volunteer using their own car to collect and return home the frail and elderly with mobility problems.

The RSVP Drivers Groups in North Somerset (other areas use RSVP Surgery Schemes) cover the main towns as well as many rural areas where bus services are poor or non-existent. The essential services they provide include transport for residents to get to medical appointments in hospitals (including Bristol), local doctors’ surgeries plus other appointments locally such as dentists and opticians.
Some of the Groups also lend aids to the community, such as wheel chairs, walking aids, children’s cots, high chairs etc.
If you are interested in joining one of these groups please email [email protected].
