Tea & Talk at Henleaze

Published on September 12, 2018 under Surgery Groups

An initiative between John Durrant of RSVP West and Deborah Cook of the Fallodon Way Medical Centre, with the help of the Eastfield Inn in Henelaze,  has created a monthly meeting of  patients of the surgery, aged 65 plus, who enjoy both each others company and the taking part in various activities.

Recently there was such a meeting whereby 30 or so were entertained by Colin of the organisation Alive  His love of music was infectious with many of the “guests” , as they are known, singing and tapping along to the music.

The aim of the meeting is to help people who would normally be at home on their own, with very little company, to enjoy a sociable afternoon over tea and cake.

This is something special to the patients with many in their eighties and nineties, who could have spent a very lonely afternoon at home.

This event is special to them and is something that they look forward to, should for any reason they need help in getting to the meeting – help is always available from RSVP.
