The national Retired & Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) encourages over 50’s to volunteer for the benefit of their local community and provides them with the necessary training and support.

A very important part of the work we do is the friendship and enjoyment that comes from our activities and the pleasure we get from each other’s company.

As a volunteer member you will join a team of your choice and give the time you wish to donate. On the following pages you can read about our teams.

Having chosen a team where the work interests you an organiser for the team will meet with you to chat about the work you will be involved with and to learn more about you.

If you decide to join us we will ask you to –

  • Complete an RSVP membership form including details of two referees
  • When your organiser has obtained your references you will be asked to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check as you may be working with vulnerable people

Demand for our services is growing fast so we are always looking for new team-members and team-leaders. Suggestions for new areas of activity are always welcome.

Come & join us! Volunteering is fun and good for your health!
